NIC Written Exam Adopted

In furtherance of our efforts to discontinue the practice of schools teaching their students two curricula, one to pass an out-dated licensing exam and the other to teach them the techniques and principles of modern salons, the State Board has officially adopted the National Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (NIC) written licensure exam, set to be implemented May 1, 2009. The NIC exam is regularly updated with the guidance of industry leaders and textbook publishers, bringing much more up-to-date standards to our licensure examination.
